Snake: game rules and control

You may ask: "Why is Snake among the logic games? It doesn't need hard thinking to play this game!". You are right, it is a very simple game. And this is the exact role Snake is playing here: it serves as the easiest game that requires quite a bit of logic :) It is intented to those who is just willing to relax and have a rest.
For the guests not acquainted with this funny game, below is a brief guideline.
The main hero of the game is a little snake which is very hungry and is crawling around the game field looking for some food. On a regular basis, a fruit appears on the game field - it can be an apple, an orange, a cherry or something else. You need to direct the snake to this item in order to "eat" the food. Upon doing that, the snake will grow in size - it will become one cell longer. In addition, the moving speed increases as the snake eats a certain number of fruits. The milestones are 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, and so on.
So, during the game the snake grows longer and longer and moves faster and faster. Your aim is pretty plain: escape meeting of the snake's head with its tail and do not hit into any of the game field edges. In either case the game will be over.
You are controlling the snake using the keyboard arrow keys (right, left, up, down). If the arrow keys do not work, please double-click the game field.
To start a new game, point to Game > New in the menu. And to pause the game, either press P or select Pause in the Game menu (the same command resumes the game if it is paused).
You can also turn the music on/off via the Game menu.
